Incoloy 825® nickel alloy (Nickelvac 825, Nicrofer 4241)
UNS N08825 Incoloy 825 is a nickel-iron-chromium alloy containing small amounts of titanium, copper and molybdenum. The chemical composition of Incoloy®825 has excellent resistance to many corrosive environments (such as pitting corrosion, crevice corrosion, intergranular corrosion and stress corrosion cracking). Incoloy 825 nickel alloy has good mechanical properties at medium to high temperatures, and the thermal processing range is 1600 to 2150ºF. Alloy 825 can also maintain good weldability in all conventional processes.

Material advantages of Incoloy 825
UNS N08825 is designed to provide excellent resistance to many corrosive environments. It is similar to 800 alloy, but has better water corrosion resistance. It also maintains excellent resistance to reducing acid and oxidizing acid, stress corrosion cracking and local corrosion (such as pitting and crevice corrosion). Some of the other benefits associated with Alloy 825 include:
- Good mechanical properties at room temperature and high temperatures up to about 1000°F
- Allows the use of pressure vessels with wall temperatures up to 800°F
- Excellent resistance to reducing and oxidizing acids
- Good resistance to stress corrosion cracking
- Satisfactory resistance to local corrosion such as pitting and crevice corrosion
- Extremely resistant to sulfuric acid and phosphoric acid
Incoloy 825® available formats
The thickness of Incoloy 825® sheet ranges from .020 to .156". Incoloy 825® sheet in coil form can be used in lighter gauges with a width of 12". Incoloy 825® boards up to 3 inches thick are available.
Nickel alloy Incoloy 825® rods can provide forged rods with a maximum diameter of 6 inches, and can be forged in larger sizes and shapes according to orders.
The maximum size of Incoloy 825® seamless pipe is 8" NB. The size in the welded structure (100% X-ray) is larger and can also be manufactured to order. The maximum outer diameter of Incoloy825® pipe is 1-1/2". .
